Your luxury vinyl floor is a significant investment that deserves to be protected.
Improper maintenance can ruin your floors and void the warranty.
Everyday sweeping and mopping can remove daily dirt carried in by foot traffic, but it’s not enough to deep clean your floors.
Regular cleaning methods and consumer products leave a build-up of dirt, debris, and allergens within the grooves and textures of vinyl flooring, leaving you exposed to allergens, dirt, and toxins.

-
Do I need to be present during cleaning services? We do strongly recommend that you are present for your Residential cleaning services. We begin with a Pre-Inspection walkthrough upon arrival which provides the Technician with valuable information about your needs and expectations. Next, we verify the areas to be cleaned, qualify job requirements (ie. Stains or spots requiring special attention), and note any pre-existing conditions and explain the CanaClean™ process. During the cleaning, the Technician may need to speak with you if any questions arise. Finally, the Technician completes a post-inspection with you to ensure that you are satisfied with the results. Once the service is complete, we need someone present to provide payment. For all non-residential work orders, arrangements will be discussed prior to the service being completed.
-
Do you move any furniture? For the sake of time and completion of a thorough clean we request the client move small and breakable items out of the space that is scheduled to be cleaned. In bedrooms, we clean high traffic areas around heavy, large furniture such as bed frames and dressers. We do not move large furniture, beds, pianos, TVs or stands, computers, China cabinets, and other large and/or fragile items that our technician cannot safely move according to workplace safety regulations and our business insurance.
-
When can I remove the pads and blocks from furniture after cleaning? In the event pads or blocks are placed under any furniture during the cleaning process do not remove the pads or foam blocks until the carpets are completely dry. Premature removal of pads and blocks while the carpets are still damp increases the risk of wood or rust stains.
-
What areas does CanaClean™ serve? We provide professional cleaning services to the following areas: Vernon, Coldstream, Lake Country, Lumby, Enderby, Armstrong, Salmon Arm and surrounding Okanagan communities.
-
Does CanaClean™ guarantee stain and/or odour removal? We cannot ethically guarantee 100% stain, spot or mark removal because no textile is absolutely stain-proof. We also cannot guarantee removal of non-food substances such as vomit, medication, urine, makeup, filtration lines or other staining or spotting substances. We cannot guarantee removal of stains or spots that have been previously worked on in any fashion. We can guarantee that all our technicians are trained in stain, spot and odor removal and will do everything they can to address all spots, stains and odors with appropriate methods and products.
-
Are your cleaning products safe for my home, my pets, and my children? The health and safety of our customers, technicians, and the environment is at the forefront of all we do. When it comes to the cleaning products used in our cleaning processes, we will never use a product in your indoor space that we wouldn’t use in our own home or office. We may use different products in various situations, based on the surface being cleaned and the level of soil. Our cleaning products have excellent health, environment and safety ratings, with most cleaning products having a health and safety rating of very low (1 to 0). The lower the number is on the scale means it's a safer choice for the environment, health, and safety of everyone.
-
Do you use "Green" and "Environmentally Safe" products for cleaning carpet, upholstery and LVT??There are many different cleaning environments and levels of soiling, and dependent on the type of flooring or upholstery and chosen method of cleaning, albeit a "deep clean" Hot Water Extraction or the Pad/Bonnet extraction method ~ each calls for cleaning chemistry that matches each situation to attain successful results. Again, given the level of soil, grease, or organic matter it will always dictate the choice of cleaning chemistry required. Our #1 go to choice is to use our cleaning chemistry that have NO NTA's, NO Butyls, are Non-Corrosive, is Environmentally Safe, VOC Compliant, have No sticky residue and is 99% GREEN. We do have a couple of cleaning products that are made from food-based plants. The manufacturer’s new proprietary processes unleashes the power of plants into an incredibly powerful cleaning technology that gives you great results without sacrificing quality.
-
Does your cleaning process leave residue behind? No, when cleaning carpets & upholstery our primary cleaning process is Hot Water Extraction, which is the cleaning method most widely used in the industry and is approved by carpet and upholstery manufacturers. The CanaClean™ hot water extraction method allows us to safely rinse & remove soil, simple spots, oils and most odors without leaving behind any residue. Our hot water extraction process is a deep clean that safely removes the toughest, deepest dirt and oils safely and gently. Hot, soft water and specially formulated cleaning solutions are injected deep within the carpet & upholstery fibers. Then, a powerful suction extracts deep-down soil, greases, oils, allergens, cleaning solution and 95% of the moisture.

Is CanaClean™ an IICRC Certified Firm?Absolutely. We are active and participating members in good standing with the IICRC. All IICRC Certified Firms are known for their high level of technical experience and professionalism.
-
What is the IICRC?The IICRC is the Institute of Inspection Cleaning and Restoration Certification, a non-profit organization for the Inspection, Cleaning, and Restoration Industries. Established in 1972, the IICRC has evolved into a global organization with more than 49,000 active Certified Technicians and more than 6,500 Certified Firms around the world. Their mission is to establish and advance globally recognized standards, credentials, and certifications for the inspection, cleaning, and restoration industries.
-
What Is IICRC Certification and why is it important?Do you know how to spot the difference between an amateur cleaning company vs. a reputable one? The reality is, few people can tell the two apart. You can identify a reputable cleaning company by the specific IICRC (Institution of Inspection Cleaning and Restoration Certification) certification. The IICRC is an international non-profit organization that establishes and promotes globally recognized standards and certifications for the cleaning industry. To become certified, applicants must meet specific criteria such as being properly insured and licensed in addition to passing stringent testing. You wouldn’t hire a plumber or electrician who isn’t properly trained, insured, and certified, so why would you hire a cleaning professional who lacks certification, training and the proper insurance? For anyone looking to hire a credible cleaning company, it’s important that you look for the IICRC trademarks and logos.
-
Is CanaClean™ licensed to use the IICRC trademarks and logos while adhering to IICRC code of ethics and standards? At CanaClean™ we are licensed to use the IICRC trademarks and logos and market ourselves as IICRC approved. Some cleaning companies market themselves as IICRC “trained” or “certified” without being able to produce any proof that shows they are in current and good standing with the IICRC, so it’s always important to look for proof of certification when hiring a reputable firm. Fortunately, the IICRC certification body ensures that when you hire a certified firm or technician, that you have hired an expert who has been trained and certified to work in accordance with the industry’s current standards. At CanaClean™, all our technicians have undergone the appropriate IICRC certification training, and we adhere to the IICRC code of ethics and standards.
-
Are CanaClean™ Technicians certified by the IICRC?Absolutely. All of our technicians have undergone the appropriate IICRC certification training. CanaClean™ technicians have Journeyman Textile Cleaner status and are certified to IICRC standards in: Carpet Cleaning Upholstery & Fabric Cleaning Stone, Masonry, and Tile Maintenance Odor Control Resilient Floor Maintenance Water Damage Restoration Trauma & Crime Scene and more!

Does CanaClean™ provide move-in and move-out cleaning?Yes! Any of our professional cleaning services are available for your move-in or move-out needs. Moving is never easy. You have enough tasks on your to-do list – cleaning doesn't need to be one of them. Do I really need to clean before I move out? Leaving behind a clean, sanitary, and spot-free environment is an important part of the moving process whether you’ve been renting or have sold a home. For renters, the return of your security deposit hinges on the level of cleanliness you leave behind. When selling a home, most sales include the condition that the home and/or flooring must be professionally cleaned with receipts provided to the buyer, prior to possession. What’s the benefit of cleaning before I move into a new home? Moving into a new home is an exciting process and you want your new space to be as clean, sanitary, and spot and odor-free as possible. Our complete move-in cleaning service simplifies the moving process and allows you to settle in more quickly, without needing the extra time to deep-clean, or having to worry about soil left behind in the flooring by the previous inhabitants. There’s nothing like freshly cleaned spaces to welcome you home!

Speciality pricing will apply.

What is a living room/dining room combination and why is it priced at 2 rooms/areas?In many modern developments (especially condominiums, apartments, basement suites and townhouses) there is no obvious separation between living room and dining room areas. For our purpose of defining areas, a living room and dining room that flow together and are connected will be considered two separate rooms/areas as it would be written on the building’s blueprints.

-
Why don’t you match other cleaning company prices?Unfortunately, many companies within the cleaning industry do not operate with transparent pricing, or operate with the same business ethics and cleaning standards as CanaClean™, so it is not possible for us to price match while also maintaining our own standards of honesty and transparency. There are active cleaning companies that have splash & dash pricing that at first may catch your attention until you learn or experience they add on extra fees for this or that, or for extra dollars you can pay them for “deep cleans,” “2nd stage cleans,” "power scrubs", and so on. Over time, these companies have built a poor reputation for “bait & switch”- offering a low price to get you to book an appointment, only to add on additional fees that should be already included in the cleaning service. Often the customer ends up with an invoice that is much higher than they expected. This practice has caused widespread mistrust for people looking to hire a trusted cleaning company. As the saying goes "you get what you pay for"!! In our commitment to honesty, we are always upfront and transparent in our pricing structure, and our cleaning service processes has outshined others time and time again, and additionally, CanaClean™ technicians are properly trained employees with industry recognized certifications. We believe in building lasting client relationships, clear communication, and ethical pricing. That’s why we explain everything including our service process before we commence with any work. The price you are quoted before we start is the same price you pay when we’re finished, unless you decide to have additional areas cleaned in the middle of your cleaning service.
-
Does CanaClean™ offer same day service?Appointments are booked in advance; however, we always work to accommodate an unforeseen circumstance. Check out our on-line booking and scheduling tool.
-
Do you offer after hours cleaning?Yes, with advance notice, we can have technicians available for special cleaning needs or unique circumstances. Please call us for information, scheduling, and pricing.
-
Do I need to deep clean my Vinyl Flooring?Yes, you do! Most consumers have been marketed to think that vinyl flooring is “no-to-low maintenance,” meaning it is easy to clean and maintain without effort. Unfortunately, this is not the case. Vinyl flooring has a vinyl wear surface, which attracts all kinds of dirt and grime. Dust, soil, the cooking oils in the air, etc. get trapped in the grooves and textures of the flooring and build up over time. Soil from everyday use, combined with residue from consumer cleaning products builds up and attracts even more dirt and grime that won’t come off with regular cleaning products. Common household products such as vinegar and cleaning erasers are abrasive and damaging to your expensive vinyl flooring. Professional deep cleaning for vinyl floors is the best way to protect your investment and ensure the longevity of your flooring.
-
How often should my Luxury Vinyl flooring be deep cleaned? There is no hard and fast rule that applies to all situations. If you are waiting for your vinyl flooring to look dull and soiled, then you are waiting too long for a professional deep clean. Remember that sweeping and mopping does not remove the build up of dirt and grime in your flooring. Here are a few things to consider when deciding how often to have your vinyl flooring deep cleaned. First, consider the amount of foot (or paw) traffic on your Luxury Vinyl floors and the manufacturer recommendations for deep cleaning. For most of these flooring products, the average time between cleanings is 6 to 12+ months. Also take into consideration your standards of ‘clean’, indoor smokers, environmental situations, etc. If you have children or pets, you cook often, or walk around barefoot, then you will likely need to have your floors deep cleaned more often. The oil in the air from cooking, as well as the oil and perspiration from your feet sits on top of the vinyl wear layer, attracting dust in the air and turning it to oily grime. Schedule your cleaning on a regular cycle to ensure a clean in-home air environment.
-
Could improper cleaning void my carpet warranty?Yes. Most (if not all) residential and commercial carpet manufacturer warranties contain express instructions, guidelines for the owners’ responsibilities regarding cleaning, care, maintenance and the process and cleaning method used by the cleaning contractor. By not adhering to the guidelines from carpet manufacturers, many homeowners may unknowingly void their warranty.
-
Is it important to follow the carpet & upholstery manufacturers instructions for scheduled cleaning, care, maintenance and to ensure the cleaning contractor uses a process and cleaning method recommended by the Manufacturer?Yes, most if not all residential and commercial carpet & upholstery manufacturers have warranties that include instructions, guidelines and the owners’ responsibilities regarding cleaning, care, as well as necessary maintenance and the process and cleaning method used by the cleaning contractor.
-
How often should carpets be cleaned? There is no hard and fast rule that applies to all situations. Remember that regular vacuuming does truly clean your carpets to remove dust and allergens. Follow the manufacturer's recommendations for your carpets & upholstery. Typically, the manufacturers recommend 6-12+ months between professional carpet cleaning, and 12-24 months between professional upholstery cleaning. There are many factors that play a role in how quickly your textiles, carpets, and rugs soil. Here are a few to take into consideration. First, consider the amount of foot (or paw) traffic on your floors and furniture. Second, take into account your standards of ‘clean’, indoor smokers, environmental situations, etc. If you have children or pets, you cook often, or walk around barefoot, then you will likely need to clean your carpet and upholstery more often. Synthetic flooring and upholstery attracts the oils in the air from cooking, as well as the oil and perspiration from your feet Finally, note that all textiles in your home act as air filters and trap contaminants in your environment. If you are waiting for your textiles to be visibly soiled before cleaning, then you are waiting too long. Schedule your cleaning on a regular cycle to ensure clean air in your home.
-
How long will it take for my carpets and upholstery to dry?Unfortunately, "Drying times" is over sold and over marketed to the consumer as some sort of benchmark to success with one method of cleaning being sold as the better or safer choice over the next without really explaining all the details to the unknowing client. The fact is there are variables coupled with the cleaning method used that will dictate the length of time it takes for carpet and upholstery to completely dry ~ Average drying time for carpet and upholstery can be as little as 1 hour and up to 4 hours. Drying time can be affected by factors beyond our control, including the type and weave of your fabric, the type or level of soil, grease, or organic material the cleanliness level of the textile beforehand, type of equipment required to properly complete your cleaning, the type of space being cleaned, and the amount of foot traffic experienced, specialty spot removal, the application of fabric protector, if applied, air temperature, the humidity, and air circulation in your living or workspace etcetera It’s best to ask your technician for an estimated drying time at your cleaning appointment. To speed up drying times we recommend that you increase air circulation by turning on a fan, turning up the heating system to 21 degrees Celsius (72 degrees Fahrenheit), and opening a window slightly to allow for potential moisture to escape.
-
How long does a typical or average cleaning service take?At CanaClean™, we know that your time is valuable and we are conscious of that while we are in your home. The average cleaning service is between 2-4 hours, we always guarantee a minimum of 1 hour per home to be able to complete a proper pre-inspection, cleaning and post inspection. If you have scheduled for your complete living space and furniture to be cleaned, then you should plan for more than the 2-4 hour average.
-
Do you clean carpet on cat posts?Yes, we do, and this service will be offered and priced on a case-by-case basis.
-
I have had my carpet cleaned, but the spots have reappeared. What should I do?Although most spots that are removed from carpet do not reappear, some substances in the carpet backing may wick to the surface after cleaning. If this happens, please contact us.
-
What types of upholstery fabric do you clean? We can clean most synthetic fabrics. We typically do not clean furniture with Natural fabrics - cotton, cotton blends, linen, and wool. We do not clean silk or 100% rayon.
-
I’ve heard that cleaning my carpet & upholstery will make it soil faster. Is that true? This issue arises when residues linger in the fabrics, drawing in more soil. Typically, it stems from improper or incomplete extraction or incorrect rinsing of cleaning solutions used in the cleaning process. One of our tailored cleaning processes uses hot water extraction to ensure minimal residue remains, preventing further soil attraction.
-
What method do you use for carpet and upholstery cleaning?Dependent on the situation and the space being cleaned we will assess accordingly and use different cleaning processes and methods. We typically use Hot Water Extraction for our carpet and fabric cleaning, which is a deep cleaning method most widely used in the industry and is approved by carpet and upholstery manufacturers. The CanaClean™ hot water extraction method removes the toughest, deepest soil gently and safely. Hot, soft water and specially formulated cleaning solutions are sprayed deep within the carpet & upholstery fibers. Then, a powerful suction extracts deep-down soil, greases, oils, allergens, cleaning solution and 95% of the moisture.
-
Do you steam clean carpet & upholstery? This is a common question! At CanaClean™ we do not “steam clean” carpet and upholstery. We use a process called hot water extraction to clean, which is often referred to as “steam cleaning’” because of the steam you see as we clean. Unlike traditional “steam cleaning,” we use high efficiency cleaning machines to deeply clean fibers and materials. These machines spray hot water into your carpet and upholstery to release any soil that is deep within the fibers, then extract the water and remove the soil. The powerful suction removes a significant amount of water so your carpet and upholstery will dry within 1-4 hours.
-
Why should I have a protector applied to my cleaned carpets & upholstery?Any carpet & upholstery protector is only applied upon your request. If you request a fabric protector, we will apply the protector as the final step for your thoroughly cleaned carpet and upholstery. These products shield your carpet and upholstery from dry soil, water, and oil-based spills, and everyday use by enveloping each fiber in a protective coating. This added layer grants you extra time to address spills and spots before they penetrate the fibers. The protector helps to ensure your carpet and upholstery maintains its “Revive, Renew, Refresh” appearance between professional cleanings. Additionally, it simplifies vacuuming and spot cleaning tasks.
-
Is Fabric protector included in your base price? No, the protectant that we apply to carpet and upholstery is not included in the base price. Carpet manufacturers recommend reapplying fibre protector with every professional carpet cleaning and most times it’s a noted manufacturer requirement to keep a new carpet warranty valid, at CanaClean™ we leave that choice up to each individual client.
-
Does carpet & upholstery come with a protector from the manufacturer? Most carpets come with a dry soil protector. This is a wear-dated product and is removed over time with everyday traffic. Carpet manufacturers recommend that you have this protector reapplied about once a year, and perhaps more often on heavy traffic areas.
-
How does carpet affect my indoor air quality?Even though it's surprising to most people, carpet is a better choice for improving air quality than vinyl floors, especially for anyone with asthma, allergies, or respiratory issues. The carpet fibres act as a passive filter to trap dust that would be otherwise floating in the air or sitting on the surface of a hard floor. This helps to improve your indoor air quality, reducing asthma and allergy triggers. Learn more about the benefits of carpet in your home.
-
How often should I have my tile floor cleaned? Many factors must be considered when determining the frequency of tile and grout cleaning. Foot traffic, children, pets, soil levels and routine floor maintenance will affect how often you need to have your tile and grout cleaned. To maintain the best condition, it is advisable to have a professional deep cleaning every 12 months.
-
Why should I have my tile and grout cleaned?Just like any flooring such as Luxury Vinyl, Laminate, Hardwood, or Carpet, soil builds up over time, dulling your tile’s appearance and discoloring your grout. This negatively impacts the aesthetics of your indoor living space. A thorough, professional tile and grout cleaning is the only way to remove the dirt that's compacted deep within the pores of the materials.
-
How to clean an area rug?To keep your area rugs looking new, regular maintenance and properly applied cleaning processes are essential. The limitations of the cleaning process are dependent on the type of fabric that the rug is made of. How to clean an area rug starts with recognizing what type of rug you have. Once the materials of your rug have been identified, we can provide a custom cleaning service that is tailored to your item.
-
How much does area rug cleaning cost? The cost to clean an area rug is determined by several factors. These factors include things like condition, soil accumulation, age, spots and stains, rug size, and most importantly, the fiber and material used in the manufacturing process of the rug. Once the fabric and material has been identified, we can give you a quote and additional details for the area rug cleaning process
-
Does CanaClean™ offer Oriental, Persian, exotic, and specialty rug cleaning?Yes! on a case by case booking ~ We can provide premium cleaning for specialty and exotic rugs, including Oriental and Persian rugs. For a small pick-up & delivery charge, we can pick up your specialty rugs from your home or business for cleaning and deliver them back to your site, looking revived, renewed and refreshed. There are varying standards required for different kinds of business. Following any requirements and business standards, all cleaning depends on the unique needs of your business.
